FAQ

1. Can registered press attend tutorials?

Registered members of the press and industry analysts are invited to attend all keynotes and technical sessions. Press registration only covers the actual conference on 12-15 Nov 2007 and does not include training sessions on 12-12 Nov 2007. Members of the press and analysts are welcome to participate in training sessions by paying the respective registration fee(s).

2. Can I invite the press to attend the conference?

Certainly! Members of the press and analysts are welcome to the conference, providing that they meet our credentialing requirements. If you are referring a member of the media to the conference, we ask that you kindly alert the ApacheCon press team for their follow-up.

3. Will a list of registered media representatives be made available?

The list of registered media will be made available to conference sponsors, and exhibitors, as well as to select presenters by special request. Note that the list is continually growing as we register press up through the conference itself; we are therefore unable to confirm headcount until 1-2 weeks prior to the conference.

4. Will ApacheCon have a Press Room?

Due to the informal nature of ApacheCon, we no longer secure a dedicated room for press activities. The ApacheCon press team will be available to coordinate interviews, distribute sponsor/exhibitors press kits, organize news/product announcements, and schedule briefings. Representatives of the media will receive conference-specific promotional materials and announcements, and are welcome to schedule meetings through the ApacheCon press team upon advance request. Private briefings and embargoed presentations to the media are designated as closed and accessible only to those members of the press who have received prior invitations.

5. How do sponsors and exhibitors deliver media kits to the conference?

Each sponsor or exhibitor wishing to provide materials for the media must receive confirmation to deliver materials from the ApacheCon press team. Upon approval, materials must be shipped directly to the conference venue within the ApacheCon press timeline in order to ensure placement. Press materials are ordered on a first come, first served basis. Hand-delivery of materials on site is also accepted. Any undistributed press materials will be discarded at the end of the conference unless prior arrangements have been made for their return.
