Open Development Inside the Enterprise
As corporations get more experience using Open Source software, the benefits of Open Development are becoming clear to some leading corporate IT organizations. American Express CTO Phil Steitz will share his experience applying Open Development principles to strategy development and internal Open Source projects in a large corporate environment. This session will show how collaboration technologies and Open Source development tools and best practices can improve efficiency and solution quality in large and geographically dispersed development organizations. Several ASF and ASF-related products will be included in the discussion, as will meritocracy and decision-making principles borrowed from the ASF.
