ApacheCon Session
Rich Internet Application using Apache Derby and Comet
As AJAX based applications are becoming the de facto technology when designing a web based application, it is more and more important that such application can react "on the fly", or real time to both client and server events. When data is updated either by clients or servers components, it is fundamental to have he capability to update the web based application in real time (ex: a web based email application). The Comet request protocol can be used as a technique to enable real-time updates of both clients and server component that are part of a web application.
This session will highlight how Apache Derby can play an important role in enabling "offline" and "real-time" rich Internet applications (RIAs) by extending a Grizzly Comet-enabled application such as the browser with secure and elegant storage capability. Mixing Comet Request Processing and Apache Derby allows the creation of real-time RIA applications.
