PHP (5.x) is being used more and more in enterprise applications, also thanks to the improved OOP support and the revamped web services support. The latter area, however, is not yet perfect. Some features are missing (mostly auto-generation of WSDL and support for security standards), but using third-party modules, some of these limitations can be overcome. The session first gives a detailled introduction of PHP 5's SOAP support, covers REST web services and then dives into some advanced topics and scenarios like OpenID, web services security, and more.
