Erik Abele, active in the Internet business since 1995, is currently working internationally as an independent IT consultant in the areas of software engineering, system architectures and administration. He is a member of the Apache Software Foundation (ASF), actively involved in the development of several projects, especially of the Apache HTTP Server itself. In the past, Erik has been working on a large number of first-class Internet projects ranging from developing web-centric client/server applications to designing and implementing large-scale server systems as well as in the fields of testing and monitoring complex IT infrastructures. As a member of the Internet Society (ISOC) he also cares about the social and ethical consequences of the Internet and the associated technical achievements. Erik lives in the South of Germany.
