About ApacheCon Europe 2000

The Apache Project has accomplished a feat that should make it the envy of commercial software developers everywhere. Without spending a cent on research, marketing, or advertising, this group of volunteer programmers (the Apache Group) created Apache–the Web server software that may be the most widely used server product on the Internet today. In April of 1999, the Apache Group incorporated as The Apache Software Foundation, a not-for-profit organization with a goal of developing and supporting open-source projects.

Attend the second official Apache Software Foundation conference

With the creation in early 1999 of The Apache Software Foundation, the "Apache" name is coming to mean more than just Web servers. Already the Foundation also includes the Jakarta and Java-Apache projects. ApacheCon Europe 2000 is your best opportunity to find out more about the future directions of the Foundation and its projects.

ApacheCon Europe 2000is a celebration of this success, and an opportunity for the Apache community to contemplate the future of the server widely acknowledged as the engine that is driving the Internet's phenomenal growth. With multiple in-depth tracks teaching Apache skills and techniques, ApacheCon Europe 2000 is sure to be a hit with the people who buy your products. We invite you and your company to join us in this first-ever gathering of Apache users, vendors and friends.

The dress code for the ApacheCon Europe 2000conference is: casual. This is a technology conference, largely attended by engineers, coders, and system/network administrators. There will also be managers, CTOs, CEOs, and people from big companies. So suits and ties are not required. (Shirts and shoes are, though. :-) Sneakers, running shoes, blue jeans, and T-shirts are perfectly acceptable. So are three-piece suits, if you really must.
