THE APACHE SOFTWARE FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES PRELIMINARY SCHEDULE AND REGISTRATION OPENING FOR APACHECON US 2006

FOREST HILL, MD – 26 July 2006 – The Program Committee for ApacheCon, the official conference of the Apache Software Foundation (ASF), today announced the preliminary schedule and opening of early discount online registration for ApacheCon US 2006, to be held in Austin, Texas, 9 - 13 October 2006.

The premiere developer forum showcasing key Apache technologies, ApacheCon US 2006 is the third ASF-led event to convene this year (ApacheCon Europe was held 28 - 30 June in Dublin, Ireland, and ApacheCon Asia will take place in Colombo, Sri Lanka, 14 - 17 August), ApacheCon US 2006 is the twelfth conference and expo in the series, continuing to draw ASF Members, innovators, developers, vendors, and users to experience the future of Open Source development.

Giving participants the opportunity to interact with internationally renowned thought-leaders, contributors, influencers, and organizations in the Open Source community, ApacheCon offers insight into the culture and community that develops and shepherds industry-leading Open Source projects, including Apache HTTP Server -- the world's most popular Web server software for ten years running.
