Neil Cook

Neil Cook is a Software Architect with over 15 years experience in designing and deploying large scale service-provider messaging and directory solutions. He has a particular expertise in mobile and next generation converged services, as well as messaging security.

Neil's most recent position before Cloudmark was as Senior Messaging Architect for Openwave Europe (and previously at Software.com), where he worked with mobile and wireline customers such as Telecom Italia, Telefonica, Vodafone, NTL/Virgin Media and Sprint, to provide innovative and secure messaging services to subscribers. Prior to that, Neil worked in the area of secure messaging and directory services for the military and government institutions in North America and Europe, including systems for the US and Canadian Airforces.

Neil holds both a PhD and BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from the University of Nottingham in the UK. He is actively involved in the IETF Lemonade Working Group, and is author of a IETF draft on streaming media to mobile email devices.
